About Me…

I’m an experienced Presenter and the Voice of the almighty Apple Store Phoneline. Established as a Voiceover Artist for 18 years, I work full time from the comfort of my broadcast quality home Voiceover Booth in the UK, lending my native Scottish tones and soft English tones to:

  • TV, Radio & Instore Commercials

  • Radio Imaging

  • TV Promos

  • Corporate & Online Videos

  • Telephone On Hold Messaging & IVR

  • E-Learning

  • Audio Guides

  • Conference & Event Announcements

  • And other fun and random projects!

Born in Glasgow and raised in Lanarkshire, my Scottish accent is nice and neutral, but I can soften or thicken it, play it upbeat & cool, serious & sincere or warm & friendly, hard sell or soft sell, whatever your script requires. Likewise, if it’s an English accent you require, all of the above apply too.

My age range is teens to late 30’s and whether you need a straight read or a touch of character, I’ll always be crisp & clear. I can self-record on my own or be available for directed sessions via Source Connect or Clean Feed.

All my reels are on the Audio page with a few Videos on the Video page, but if you’d like to see more video examples of my work, just click through to my VIMEO channel.

I’m also a very experienced Presenter so please take a peek at my In-vision Presenter & Commercial Reels on the Video page too, while you’re there, if you need a face as well as a voice. .

I’m proud to be a Spotlight Performer and you can see my profile on this link…

My VO Booth…

I’m a Vinyl DJ

I’m also a niche, Vinyl DJ, playing Private Members Clubs, Corporate Events, Private Parties and Weddings. My DJ Career began at Virgin Megastores Radio (VMR) back in 2001 at the big old legendary Oxford Street store, playing hits and broadcasting to all the Megastores around the UK. I bought my Technics SL-1210’s brand new the same year and started up my Vinyl Collection, playing in DJ Bars around Notting Hill, before branching out across London and the surrounding counties, going wherever my records took me. I have now launched my fabulous new, interactive concept “Select & Spin”, learn more about that here.

I also used to be a TV Floor Manager for MTV & VH1, and my best Music claims to fame are standing on stage with the legendary James Brown at the V Festival and eeking a rather relaxed George Michael out of his dressing room at MTV, as he was up there smoking a massive doobie and we needed him on the studio floor. Amazing memories!

This is my VO Booth, which I’m very proud of because it’s the coolest, most stylish and spacious Booth I’ve had and I’ve had a few! I built it as way of a post-covid refresh and I absolutely love it, it’s such a nice space and I have to say I believe “thrive” in it.

Equipment wise, my previous booths had all the bells and whistles, including an ISDN line and codec but Covid killed ISDN off early. So I now have a very simple set up and the lack of cables and various gubbins makes for a very neat and tidy environment! My Mic is a Rode NT2A and it has been an absolutely fabulous and trusty piece of equipment.

I mostly self-record and direct these days, I’ve honed those skills over the years, but I do hook up with Producers via Clean Feed of Source Connect when required.

I’m also happy to pop into London to any studio if that’s what a client prefers.

My Early Career

Prior to becoming a Voiceover Artist, I was a TV Floor Manager.

I moved to London in 1998 to work for BBC Sport & Events as an Outside Broadcast (OB) Floor Manager and had a staple diet of Football Matches and Horse Racing. I even became Motty’s “Favourite Floor Manager” for a while, possibly something to do with the “wee Scotch” I put in his coffee at half time!

I left the BBC in the middle of 1999 and launched myself into the Freelance scene. I worked for Disney, Nickelodeon, Channel 4, ITV, Sky TV, MTV, VH1 and loads of other Independent channels and production companies. I had a truly marvellous career.

As for how I became a Voiceover Artist, well, that is a journey I’m going to write a Blog about so watch this space…
